are done better in D3 than in D2.
I just played some D2 on single player untwinked after a long time and noticed that normal was quite a bit harder than nightmare because by nightmare my character was so much relatively stronger than it was on normal. And then there was a huge jump to hell difficulty where I sucked very bad.
Just an observation
