Notice the blinking/flashing yellow exclamation point pretty much in the middle of your screen. Also notice the Quests button on the hotbar flashing yellow too.
The exclamation point seems incredibly annoying, and entirely unnecessary if you already have the hotbar button flashing.|||

I don't find it much more annoying than the quest button that popped up in D2. Which was actually quite annoying after you've been playing for a while. >.>|||Both old button and new text are annoying. Iz not gud. Devs?|||

I believe you can minimize both the chat window (that displays text) and also the quest log on the screen so you wouldn't have to see it. I may be wrong, but that's what it appears to be like in the videos and screenshots.|||
Well, the one in D2 didn't flash yellow and wasn't in the center of the screen. And D2 didn't have the hotbar icon that flashes as well. If the hotbar is flashing you don't need the exclamation point.|||I have wanting to make a suggestion and I might as well do it in this thread as it concerns the Quest icon. Sorry for the slight derail.

So in the Character pane the Quest tab is identified by a chalice (no doubt originated from the Holy Grail paradigm).
How awesome would it be to have the Quest icon (over NPC heads... and anywhere else Blizzard may choose to redundantly flash it) be an original golden glowing chalice instead of the common golden glowing exclamation-mark?

Yes. I hope the UI division is smart enough not to make silly mistakes such as drawing unnecessary attention to unimportant notifications.
