I know it'll be abused and never happen anyway, but all this gambling talk makes me want it.
I just need one more game man... 1 more roll of the dice!|||
Q u o t e:
I would end up starting the game with a massive debt. The first time I log in, there would be a handful of level 60 bruisers waiting to break my legs, screaming "WHERE'S THE MONEY" in to my poor Wizard's face.
Expansion class idea!
The Goon
Skills:
Kneecap: kneecaps a demon or another player until gold starts spilling out.
Tie Strangler: strangle an enemy w/ their own tie, silencing their lame excuses as to why they ain't got no money.
Insurance: Fire bombs an artisan cart until they pay off their insurance.
New Shoes: Gives a deadbeat cement shoes and throws them in the River of Flame.|||

In a real life world where money is 95% of your progression nobody's gona gamble amirite?
I dont think you are? Your post has confused me as it doesnt really relate to what I was saying at all.
So, if I'm interpreting your post correctly, Im not on about gambling in the classic sense, someone was on about gambling away their chance at keeping the loot that dropped for them, not about gambling gold to get items...|||is item linking going to make it into beta?|||At the Risk of trying to do that which simply cannot be done, I have a solution to make everyone happy:
1. As a starting point we all know (or should know) drops are for each player only. You can only pick up/see your own drops.
2. Player "A" (or alternatively "you") can choose to have the items you pick up be displayed to the party, but as a default none of your drops are displayed to anyone else.
3. When you pick up items it would show up on Player "B's" chat screen as: "Player A has looted X item" the options could could be as broad as display everything to as narrow as only display legendary items from X armor class.
(Maybe your group of friends wants to share items, and see each others "good drops" but you don't want to be spammed each time a piece of crap armor drops and gets picked up)
A.) Explanation:
i. Your playing in a public game, you don't want to share with others or have others share with you and you don't want drama over who got what...no problem. Your default is that your drops are private and you may carry on in that manner if you so choose. Since it would be the default option it should become the cultural norm to have that as the generally accepted baseline expectation each player has with each other player on sharing drops.
ii.) You are player with a group of friends and even though items drop for each player only, you all want to share drops. This option allows this group of friends a way to easily see what each other player has found so you don't have to stop every so often and compare drops to see if anyone has found anything that someone else would want.
iii.) Also you could terminate the shared drops view at any time. Giving every player absolute control over either playing solo drops vs co-op drops.
iv.) The beauty of this system is if someone wants to share or show off what they find they can, if someone wants to stay private they can. It gives each player the freedom to choose how they want to play the game. I would imagine the only players who wouldn't like this are the types who want everyone to play the game the way they play....gotta love the little Hitlers of the world~

K.....but drops are individual right\? How does Barb #2 know my Barb just had an awesome axe drop?
3 people in a game.
1 wizard
2 barbs
The wizard finds leet axe and is feeling generous. Both barbs roll to see who gets it.
But this is D3 and evidently this game is soley based on trading so the above scenario would never be used. Realistically, the wizard keeps the axe to sell on AH or trades for the best wizard gear.|||We don't need necromancers in the game, we have some in real life, on these forums.|||

But they are your friends, so you wouldn't sell it. You could let them duel for it! ... oh right.|||

Yes; and since we are playing in the same room together, I would make them duke it out in real life.
Weapons: Folding chairs and laptop power cords as whips.|||

Does it matter how many wishes he has left? Everyone knows that your last wish should always be for more wishes. That whole being against the rules thing is just a bluff.
Only partially correct. The FIRST wish should be for UNLIMITED wishes. That way you don't forget and accidentally use your last wish on something dumb like a mountain of marshmallows after using your first two on cocaine and Ukranian hookers.|||
Q u o t e:
I think it could actually be useful in cases where you're playing with ... say, two barb friends and some amazing axe drops they'd both want.
/roll
THATS RNG BRO
I haven't heard of any intent to implement, but I sort of like it... so maybe I will use one of my Diablo III wishes.
can u use your wishes for something more useful like, optional hostility in hardcore mode?|||RIP blizzard north TT|||
