TY Jay Wilson

After watching some of the interviews, I for one am so happy that Jay Wilson is in charge.
Im very glad that this game will have only online-play. Without that, Im sure that I would get caught making a single-player character by mistake and get stuck without all the online services they provide, which would really cheapen my experience and make the game unplayable.
I am also very glad that he is forcing through the RMAH. I, like at least 1/3 of my friends, completely misunderstood how it works. Now that he has explained it in a way I can actually understand I am so happy about its existence. And even if I, and the rest of my dimwitted friends, continued to misunderstand and not want it...well, too bad!
Thank you Jay Wilson!|||Yeah, you can't please everyone. If someone's against RMT purely through principal then there's nothing that can be done for them. Seeing as the biggest game developers are starting to embrace RMT in some for another, whether it be the RMAH or microtransactions, the anti-RMT crowd are going to find their choice of AAA titles getting steadily smaller.
Oh well, sucks to be them I guess.|||

I'm sure someone like YOU would do a better job eh? Just go away and leave us alone man. How many weeks of useless babble, banter and %%!**ing must we endure from you 'fans' of Diablo 3? GIVE IT A REST!|||

I was simply pointing out how silly his arguments are. While the ideas he is implementing may be good, his explanations arent close to the real reasons why they work or what is going on.
Either you havent seen the interviews or you are one of those "fans" who doesn't care what Blizzard says or does...if they do it then IT MUST BE GOLD! no room to question anything right?
ironically, your response to this thread is very similar to peoples response against RMAH. This thread doesnt affect you does it? NO! you dont even have to read it if you dont want. but hey, here you are all upset about it. But im sure this will go over your head just like everything else.|||Yep, Jay is definitely good for D3.|||

So now your not complaining about the RMAH, your complaining about the way it is being presented to the community.
If you are so offended with the way he is explaining it, as though he was talking to a bunch of whiny *@@@#es who can't comprehend the benefits of something staring them right in the face, perhaps you should be looking at your own qualities, after all, he is talking to 'your kind'.
You are right, I don't need to read this, but your a troll, and I fell for it. Good for you, you got your attention for the day.|||In all fairness to Jay, I'm guessing the RMAH is being pushed by Vivendi since WoW turned them all into wh0res. How does it look when you work on a game that isn't even going to bring in billions? Is it even worth the effort?|||

Which ones? The "too bad" comment was a little insensitive but that's about it from what I've seen.|||Bunzaga, no offense, but I think you just gotta get some fresh air. Not everybody here is a troll really. Ways of delivering our concerns may look misleading though.

Diablo is a signature game for Blizzard, Vivendi may do all they want, but they can't afford to bring in more suspicious features, so let's just face the facts, relax and let it happen. In the end we'll see how people react.|||

lol. wow you are sensitive and easy to provoke. Did i hit a nerve, or are you in fact... Jay Wilson himself!?!?!
but to be serious, its difficult to tell why you are upset. It seems like you are just angry in general at anyone who questions anything about this game. I keep imagining the rage-face picture when i read your post, haha.
but thats ok. its the internet. you have your right to yell and ##@*! and attack people who are trying to make a point. well, at least not many people can stop you. Its just too bad that you have to raise your blood pressure and sound like an ass to do it.
Let me be more clear to those who are too dense to understand what i was saying (looking at you Bunzaga!). Listening to Jay's interviews was just a little irritating because instead of listening to a designer it felt like listening to a salesman. thats all. His arguments seemed very flimsy, but not because what he was defending was weak. I think he just didnt want to say "we would like more money". The game will be awesome, I will buy it, and the RMAH isnt a huge problem as far as I see it. Honestly? I dont think i would have preferrred it in, but this is a business and its a smart move for them.
as a last word, thanks for keeping me honest Bunzaga, without your terrible rage i might have left my post more ambiguous than i would have liked.|||HAHA, perhaps I am just a bit over-exhausted. I haven't gone to sleep yet, going on about 22 hours now. I just didn't like how you posted 'TY Jay Wilson', then sarcastically listed the issues you didn't like.
I guess I have just been a little jaded by all the anti-RMAH campaigns the last couple weeks, it seems like every single post someone who doesn't like the RMAH makes, they have to slip in some sarcastic comment about it.
If you were more straightforward about your topic and OP, I wouldn't have reacted the way I did.
Another thing, I may sound like I am raging on the inside, but I am actually quite calm. I learned long ago not to let the opinions and actions of some random un-important nobody effect my state of mind. If you weren't trolling, then sorry, but from my perspective it looked like you were.|||

I'm not suggesting they bring in more suspicious features. I'm saying I think that its Vivendi making this call. I think the team is pretty devoted to the game and I just don't believe that this is something they would have done on their own. I was trying to point out that Jay is taking the heat for this and I'm not sure that's fair. Of course I could be wrong. It's just a guess. But Vivendi doesn't own Blizz for fun, its all about profit.
EDIT:

Q u o t e:
But what did you expect?

With blizz? I expect to be listening to a game designer. It's why people love blizz. Its done when its done and it will be great. They've already downgraded me from an "instant buy" customer to a "we'll see" customer.|||Having dealt with the anti-rmt community's snideness and straw-man arguments for the past decade, their tears are like fine wine to me.|||

You know what, I gotta agree... I hated the RMAH fiercely at first... the dust fell and now when I look at it, it doesn't bother me so much anymore, I mean, I'm willing to give it a try and see how it works out...
You gotta give Jay WIlson what he deserves, he most definitely kept the boat afloat through the storms and though I never really doubted the direction of D3 (except for RMAH), I am even more confident today that the final product will be seriously kick-a$$.
Can't wait to see the Beta in action, whether I'm in it or through videos (let it be the former plz!!! lol)
It's coming :)|||

Q u o t e:
Listening to Jay's interviews was just a little irritating because instead of listening to a designer it felt like listening to a salesman.

Which statements make you think that?|||I still can't understand why does people hate so much RMAH.
We have all of those d2magic site where they sell everything for D2, which is illegal.
RMAH only legalize the service, plus you dont have to pay for illegal stuff, to "companies" that you can't really trust, and also the risk of being banned or something.

If you didnt bought anything through those "d2 services", just dont use RMAH... godamnit!|||

That's what I said. You suspected Vivendi in forcing the AH into the game, but who wouldn't. And Diablo is a signature game because it was initially about quality, not profit. Jay's fine tho. He's just not making all calls.|||When you listen to a Jay Wilson interview, you realize this man knows what he is doing. Highly capable. In contrast, if I may add, to the Starcraft II development guys.|||

Q u o t e:

A lot of reasons. But basically it's just envy uncalled for. Not everybody's gonna spend millions and not everybody who spends will own the best items.
