Basically, if a player says "I want to duel with my HC character and risk losing him", and Blizzard doesn't allow HC pvp, they're basically saying "you don't know what you want, so we're going to save your character from yourself."|||waaaaa!! I don't want to think about the results of my demands, I just want to blindly make them without any thought!!|||

Im not a PVP'er... but i totally agree -- you want to pvp in hardcore---its a blood match--- end of story

there is one thing they could add to the game --
Blood Matches on SC -- you enter it with even a SC character--- its perm.... but they wont allow for that due to the RMAH. :)|||In my opinion, Hardcore means you have one life. Period, end of story.|||

HC = ONE LIFE. Seeya|||Hardcore would be deletion of your battle.net account when your character dies. Also, if your character dies in a duel..the winner should be given the rights to your entire battle.net account.

I'd support Blizzard toying with the idea of making HC deaths (or at least some instances thereof) cause some sort of conversion to SC, if for no other reason than to encourage a larger HC PvP community.
Niche elitist D2 HC Enigma-wearing Infinity-merc Hammerdins who have Save&Exit chickening refined to an art will never convince me that their sharts smell like roses because they are better than everyone else.
Just delete your former HC character (now converted to SC due to arena death or something) if you don't like it. It does not punish you to give less extreme players an alternative.|||Yep, thats hardcore, one life, no matter if you pve or pvp.|||

I don't get it, you say that you are pro hc dueling, then you say you are against.
HARDCORE is about Death including form of PVP. Have you ever played d2 hardcore? Anyone who played hardcore in d2 knows that the only true RUSH of adrenaline people get was not from fighting monsters, it was when someone hostiled you and you heard that horrible sound with the logo. That was the rush for me. the REAL danger.. not some wheeny butt fairy monsters.
if you are scared of a little 1v1 duel and don't think you're good enough to survive, then go to the softies.
Hardcore is about NO RULES and the lack of PK/PKK has made it a wuss mode imo.
But i'd settle to be able to do 1v1 to the death with other players who have balls. it's okay if you're not one of them.|||

what does this have anything to do with being tough. it's a game. I'm just saying that the whole thrill of hardcore was the risk of dying. And to be honest, in d2 hc, i've never died due to monster because it was too easy to stay alive. I died once cause i lagged out, and the rest was do to duel or pk etc. And I didn't hate it, it was part of the game.|||

I think you misunderstood me.
I fully support HC dueling. What I'm against is HC PvP where someone loses but does not die permanently. My point was that if you support a feature that allows Hardcore characters to duel without the penalty of permanent death, you belong in softcore.
I also fully support the D2 hostility system, which was abusable because of the way it was structured, There's absolutely no way a similar hostility system will be in D3, and that makes me sad because something simple like a 10 second delay would make it so people had plenty of time to prevent being griefed.
And since you asked- I've been playing HC exclusively since July 2000. I've also engaged in plenty of consensual level 70+ HC duels, but this was long before bnet was flooded with hacks/trigs/chicken/

What I find funny about hardcore is it actually makes you play the game like a %!#@@. So to say you have bigger balls than those that don't play hardcore mode is childish.
You are extra careful, take tons of precautions and are worried about what lurks behind every corner.
Think about it. When you think hardcore, you think of someone slaughtering tons of demons with reckless abandon covered in blood, not someone carefully moving about being extra careful and tiptoeing about as not to get hurt.
Just my thoughts as a non-hardcore player. I see no point in gearing up a hardcore character as all my work will be lost when I die, and I'll surely die, unless I don't PvP and don't take any risks in PvE against Inferno quality demons, at which point one begs to question what's the damned point of being hardcore if you don't really play hardcore. How are you going to get to max level unless you play like a %!#@@ all cautiously....
