What Gives?

So I have been waiting and waiting for D3 like everyone else. I keep checking back to see what is new. Until now this was one of the only games I was really excited about.
Recently I started hearing about a cash auction hall and an internet connection being necessary at all times and even a pay to play model.
ALL of these things are pushing me away at this point. The recent news reminds me of Modern Warfare 2 and how so many things were talked about right before the release things that were a game killer to fans of the franchise and that ultimately killed the PC version completely.
I was really hoping to see this game function very similar to D2 did only modernized in the sense that we could play offline in single player and have the open/closed end of battle.net again. I also enjoyed D2 because I had no monthly bill attached to it. But one of the things that killed D2 was the sale of items for cash. Items for real cash is a bad thing in any game and to purposely add something like that makes no sense what so ever.
At this point i feel like we are just being milked for every dime we are worth.
I changed my mind on buying this game until I see something different being done at release. I would have per-ordered this without thinking twice based on my experience with D2 but as it stands I will not. I now want to see what the game looks like once it is released. If I see any of these things actually come to life at release I am moving on and never looking back.|||

Yeah yeah blah blah blah, a lot of people are feeling the exact same as you. The reason why most people (including me) are here any more is to see the drama and trolling that often takes place. There are still a few brown-nosers but hey, die-hard fans are die-hard fans.|||I can imagine weeks after the game is out, more & more people who are anti-RMAH and against it being offline will begin to like it and think more positively about it. And to those who refuse to buy the game... will eventually be buying & playing it with great joy after hearing all the rage & talk about Diablo 3.
Watch !
|||There is no way D3 will have a pay to play model. Blizzard clearly confirmed that's not what they want for the game.
As for your other two complaints, they will be in the game. There have been many, many threads debating both issues over the past few weeks. If you want to hear people arguing both sides of the issues, you should look for those threads.|||

How so? Everything other than the original purchase of the game is optional, unless you've got some weird ISP issues.
