Your *5* Wishes For Diablo 3.

Because 3 wishes are not enough.
So - one day you are polishing your Diablo 2 cd and a Bashiok appears, clad in full arabian nights attire.
After asking him to put some different clothes on, he offers you 5 wishes regarding Diablo 3.
What are your picks? For me:
1) A 2011 Release Date.
This is both a personal wish and a general one. This game has been coming for longer than any Blizzard game so far (as far as I know) and no matter how short or limited the Beta is, we are looking at a very late 2011 release date at best (a lot of other industry professionals are predicting a 1st/2nd quarter 2012 release).
While a lot of people are going to be excited to play this regardless of when it is released, hype now is at it's peak I think. With some huge titles on the horizon, a prompt beta release and a 2011 date announcement will keep focus on D3.
Personally, I will be unable to game from February next year until about the middle - so I *really* do want a release soon ^_^.
2) No Gold/Item buying/hacks/dupes.
Nuff said. While I was against the RMAH, I am now hoping that by living with it we can have a virtually legit experience. With item selling sites comes the hackers, the farmers and the shady keylogging buggers that plague WoW.
I hope that Blizzard steps up their Warden game and keeps automated play and hacking to a minimum. I'd also like to see RMTAH useage being attached to a mandatory authenticator attachment.
3) Frequent Updates
Both to endgame and balance. Inferno is...okay, as a filler I guess, but I hope we see the random events and other ideas that have been suggested implemented down the line. A good game gets players. A solid endgame keeps them.
Updates to PvP will be nice too :)
4) Dynamic Lighting/Distortion from Player Abilities
Especially outside. This is a weird thing, since we saw lots of cool distortion in the reveal video, and lighting in pictures. However in the Broll footage, we saw a total lack of lighting from player abilities outside, giving the world a flat, 2D look.
Good lighting made D2's graphics timeless. Really hoping to see this in D3.
5) HUGE bosses.
Not just physically, but mechanically.
Blizzard have learnt a lot about mechanics since D2. I'm looking forward to brilliant, multiphase fights that challenge every aspect of my character.
Give me burn phases, mine dodging, kiting, add control, movement tests and clever, varied bosses and I will *love* this game.|||My 5 wishes for Diablo 3:
1. A nice way to password games. So you can only let in who you want to, to those games.
2. Removal of the D1/D2 immunities. They served no purpose and just hindered the players.
3. A decent shared stash so we can send to good loot to our alts
4. A proper gold to Real Money exchange rate.
5. Fun. Most important thing.|||

Q u o t e:
1. A nice way to password games. So you can only let in who you want to, to those games.

I'm sure we will see this. I'd also like an ignore list, and a limited votekick function.

Q u o t e:
2. Removal of the D1/D2 immunities. They served no purpose and just hindered the players.

Agreed. Resistances - sure. But I hated being unable to make a pure ice sorc, for example (well, solo).

Q u o t e:
3. A decent shared stash so we can send to good loot to our alts

I think this is implemented already. Really want it too - was a total packrat in D2...had so many mules!

Q u o t e:
4. A proper gold to Real Money exchange rate.

Used items can be sold on the gold AH, but not the RMTAH. I think this would solve this problem really fast.

Q u o t e:
5. Fun. Most important thing.

I don't think you need to worry there. As much as I nitpick, this game does look freaking good.|||1) Robots
This is one thing that has been missing from all the other Diablos. While monsters are neat, they get old, and one finds that a series too devoid of automatons gets stale quickly. Hopefully smart robots with rocket packs and laser guns will be implemented. It would also be good (almost necessary) if Diablo turns out to be a robot.
2) Restrooms
It was ridiculous how our characters could go an obscene amount of time without relieving themselves. Sure, one might argue that they do so while we're logged off, but when you play 14 hours straight, and you see them keep it in, it becomes hard to sympathize with your character as a human being.
3) Supernova
The spells are too brief, and their effects are compromised in order to adhere to a hack & slash. The wizard needs the spell Supernova, and the effect should be exactly as long as this

4) Aliens
This is one element that the Diablo series has always lacked. I think it would add a neat dynamic. Your character should have the side role of going around, finding illegal aliens in New Tristram and other towns, who are taking employed positions for below minimum wage. They took our jobs!
5) Better Fight Coreography
The monk should both look and fight like Sammo Hung.

1. Offline play

lol most useless thing, even in congo they have internet, i can't imagine a pc without perma-connection|||1. An auction house system where I can buy and sell items for real money without getting scammed or my account banned.
2. Online only play to prevent dupes, hacks and exploitation.
3. A level beyond Hell mode, where only elite super mobs spawn.
4. A way to test every single build option for my class without having to play through to 60 every time.
5. NO SPAM BOTS.|||

lol most useless thing, even in congo they have internet, i can't imagine a pc without perma-connection

I personally, will never have an issue with this, but I do think about our military overseas on their off time. :(|||1. Fix Vendor Rates.
All armor/weapons/jewelry should only sell for the amount of the base armor pieces. Increased tiers of armor should not have obscenly high vendor costs, the scaling should be alot lower.
To give an example...
Level 1 gloves 2g, Level 30 gloves 56g, Level 60 gloves 240g.
Level 1 chestpiece 10g, Level 30 chestpiece 280g, Level 60 chestpiece 1200g.
Affixes would not change the rates for selling to a vendor but this would change the rates for the vendor selling to you. In fact vendors will use the base selling value of the item, multiply it by 4 and then apply the multipliers of the Affixes.
Color (White, Green, Yellow, Gold) will not change the rates. That way you are encouraged to vendor the greys, whites, etc and may AH the others.
Doing this will be a strong first step in combating the level of gold people generated in D2.
2. Different Repair system
Repairs are meant to be an effective gold sink, although some classes pay alot more repair costs than others.
Melee will pay the most since their armor is constantly getting hit and their weapons are always in use.
Physical Ranged don't get hit as much but they are using their weapons and may have to buy projectiles.
Magical Ranged don't get hit as much and they are using their magic and not weapons to slay things.
It must be balanced. All armor won't lose durability when hit/used. Gold would also not be lost on the death itself. Instead you'll get a stacking debuff that when it reaches 4, you'll gain no benefit from the armor you are wearing (So the affixes would essentially not work).
The only way to remove the debuff would be to pay a town NPC to do it. Each stack costs an amount based on your level. This causes everyone to sink the same amount on repairs. Also, this prevents people from removing armor to prevent a death or zerging content through the portal until the boss or anything else is dead or anything else to avoid the cost.
Also, there would be an NPC that could "Polish" your armor. As long as your armor has full durability (basically you have no death stacks), then you gain a buff, 5% attributes for 2 hours. Switching armors won't mess up the buff (even though that sounds silly).
3. Baal's Ring of Death (PvP)
Allow a mode 2v2 or 3v3 that pits your group and the opposing group against waves of monsters. Both groups are separated by a wall with a gate in the middle of the wall.
If your side kills your wave first you get health orbs and the next wave spawns 10 seconds. If your side is the second to kill the current wave, you get the next wave instantly.
Game continues for 10 waves or if one side dies entirely. Last wave has a large boss...if both sides survive the boss, the wall between the two groups drops and you kill each other for a chance at the Skull Adorned Chest.
The Skull Adorned Chest would have random items of low to great quality with affixes that could only be obtained from this chest. Most of these affixes may have their best use in PvP.
4. 1v1 Arenas with Ingame Gold Wager System
Last Man Standing Arena setup with a room where spectators can enter and join in on the betting. When the two players are ready to move from this pregame room to the arena, no wagers can be made and any wagers that were made are locked in. Wagers are done with ingame gold.
Keep in mind that players dont' have to wager at all and when both combatants are in the pregame room, they can instantly decide to move to the arena.
Hardcore Matches could also happen here, allowing for interesting speculation where the stakes are initially high.
5. Vastly Difficult and Rewarding "Unique Champion" monsters
Strong bosses scattered all throughout the game in each act. Of course there were act bosses, but there were some named non-act bosses that stood out.
These are the guys were in randomly spawned locations, not specifically in one spot to prepare first and then move in. Not something you fought every time you move through normal, nightmare, and hell...but could be just as deadly if not more...(I'm looking at you Lightning Gloam superunique with multiple shots, super fast).
Diablo II definitely had alot of them and its probably the reason why blizzard wants people to explore more cause they missed out on alot of these guys. Making sure alot of them are there, ready to go, and not in places that would make for easy MF runs (Pindleskin, Eldrich, High Council...) would make the exploration aspect that much better.|||1. Start the beta today.
2. Bring back skill points.
3. No increased level cap in expansions.
Edit: It's only half of the first act and up to level 10, with only a few skills per class and no runes. I don't see why they're waiting.|||

Q u o t e:

lol most useless thing, even in congo they have internet, i can't imagine a pc without perma-connection

Actually, you know - I had the same reaction at first. "Who the hell doesn't have internet?".
Then I thought for a second to when Half Life 2 was released and I was still in Africa. It was the first game I had encountered that required a decent connection (decryption over the super slow dialup that was the only thing available in the country took over 2 hours).
I promptly returned the game, and shortly after the "Steamcleaned" version hit our campus servers.
I *did* buy the game down the line (since I have an aversion to piracy) but a lot of my friends who would have otherwise, didn't.
Similarly with no Offline in Diablo 3: This game will be pirated. I give it a few days before an offline version shows up on the web. People with no permanent connection are likely to aquire this to play offline - it may be tricky, it may be illegal, but if they want to play this may be their only option.
I see what Blizzard are trying to do - but a permanent connection requirement is excessive. But this is a matter for another thread.|||1. Everything is going to be ok.
2. If not everything is going to be ok, we will have our ways around.
3. If our ways around are not strictly legal, we will not get banned.
4. If we get banned, we will at most be temp banned.
5. We can sell our characters from banned accounts to new ones.|||

Then you don't have much of an imagination!
My 5 wishes are are follows:
1) Offline Single Player
2) LAN Multiplayer
3) Physically Enormous Maps
4) No RMAH
5) Frequent Updates
|||1) Replacement of the Barbarian with a new class.
2) Replacement of many of the returning skills with completely new skills to freshen up the experience.
3) A beta key.
4) Raise the party size to 5.
5) Allow us to manually distribute attribute points and invest a single point into any passive skill every level.|||

This!|||@ Sorrowbird
1. Nice and hope it's possible.
2. hat's the aim. Lets hope Blizzard can stop all the cheaters.
3. With it being a 100% online game I'm sure there will be lots of update patches.
4. It will be there. Maybe with a togglable option. Cause too much lighting from others abilities will just spam thew screen and make it hard to see what you want to kill.
5. That's a little WoW. But why not? I think smart boss AI is good.
@Bridgeburners
Nice troll.
But the monk should look and fight like Bruce Lee
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q9kYKtvYU0
A video of Bruce Lee *!#!ing 30 men up. And a really good idea of how this could be integrated into D3.
@ Bunzaga
1. I think Blizzard is working on this.
2. Again this is what Blizzard is wanting to do
3. Inferno difficulty.
4. You can skill respec. So that fixes this issue.
5. I agree. Spam bots suck.
@ Kyros_quickfist
1. I agree. Having item tier vendor prices scale appropriately would be very good.
2. No. Will never work. Cause HC exists. And there is no playtime after death in HC.
3. A nice idea but probably won't be implemented in the game.
4. I think this is a good idea. People can watch the matches live. And gambling stops before the fight starts. But with the matchmaking system to get 2 evenly geared/skilled people to fight how'd you determine the gambling odds? Maybe based on their win/loss ratio. WHo knows.
5. I like the idea but the bosses would be scaled so they are beatable within the current difficulty. Ie normal ones beatable by level 20ish. Nightmare ones beatable by level 40 and hell obes beatable by level 60. And inferno ones would be a touch harder. But not that much harder cause inferno = entire game is farmable. So they'd just become a different place ot farm when the rest get boring.
@ Daventry23
1. Agreed.
2. Agreed.
3. Agreed.
4. Agreed. But all of the inferno acts are same difficulty. So if you can beat one inferno act you can beat them all. Just Boss AI might make different areas slighter harder/easier for each skill setup.
5. That's the idea of inferno. The entire game there will by farmable not just the bosses.
@Evilenginen9
Nice troll.
@Dzomlija
1. Not in Blizzard's plans.
2. Not in blizzards plans.
3. I hope for that too.
4. Not in Blizzard's plans
5. I really hope for this too.
@Blazur
1. The Barbarian is here to stay I think.
2. I agree. Lazy Blizzard in a way.
3. We all want one of those.
4. Probably won't happen. Maybe in the expansion pack.
5. That's Diablo 2. And not gonna happen in Diablo 3.|||

Q u o t e:
13) A beta key .

And this.
/rubs cd...|||1. Cow Level / Rainbow Pony Level
2. LAN Multiplayer
3. Creepier atmosphere (Path of Exile is owning d3 so hard on this factor)
4. A reason to read/get into the lore
5. Random endless sidequests / easter eggs
